LIGHTNING:
EARLY PLAYOFF PREVIEW?
The Tampa Bay Lightning host the Nashville Predators, who come to Tampa with their high-scoring “JOFA” line of Ryan Johansen, Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson in a showdown between two of the Eastern Conference’s top teams. Or is that in doubt after the Bolts’ horrible road trip-ending loss at Arizona? 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The Bolts head to Canada this weekend for a game against the Montreal Canadiens (7 p.m. Saturday) and Ottawa Senators (7 p.m. Sunday) before returning home on Tuesday to meet the Edmonton Oilers (7:30 p.m.) Ticket prices vary by game. Amalie Arena, 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa. (813) 301-6600. TV: Fox Sun; radio: 970-AM.
BUCS:
MAGIC OR TRAGIC
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Mike Smith was fired. Jameis Winston was benched. FitzMagic struck again. What a few weeks it has been for a team teetering on irrelevance, especially if it loses to the Carolina Panthers in North Carolina this week. Does it even matter who starts at quarterback? 1 p.m. Sunday. TV: Fox; radio: 97.9 FM.
