After getting some rest over their bye week, the San Francisco 49ers take to the road this week for their final trip out of the West Coast season as they fly to Tampa Bay to face the 3-7 Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers are coming off a 38-35 road loss to the New York Giants, who knocked off the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Week 10 by a score of 27-23. The Giants were outgained by the Buccaneers 510-359 in the win but were able to come up with four interceptions, which is part of the reason the Buccaneers come into their game against San Francisco with a question at quarterback.
Both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston played against New York, with Winston coming off the bench after Fitzpatrick threw three interceptions. Winston helped rally the Buccaneers from a 24-7 hole to make things interesting late in the game, but it wasn’t enough to come out with a win.
This week’s game will be the 23rd meeting between these two teams, with the 49ers holding a 17-6 advantage. Tampa Bay won the last meeting against San Francisco, a 34-17 win at Levi’s Stadium in 2016.
Here’s a look at the projected starters for each side when the two teams kick off from Raymond James Stadium at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT Sunday.
