Report: Sean Kugler not signing with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, still in play for Buffalo Bills offensive line coach

In an unexpected twist, former Denver Broncos offensive line coach Sean Kugler is not expected to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching staff in the same role as previously reported. Tampa Bay Times NFL reporter Rick Stroud first reported the news on Friday night.

Instead of Kugler, who worked with new head coach Bruce Arians with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bucs are going with University of Arizona o-line coach Joe Gilbert, who was with Arians in Indianapolis.

Stroud confirms that Kugler, a Lockport native, is in high demand as other NFL staffs are coming together. With Gary Kubiak out as the offensive coordinator in Denver, he won’t be going back there.

Kugler could be waiting for the dust to settle. He could return to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Mike Tomlin if Mike Munchak leaves to go to Denver, as has been reported.

The Bills were reportedly interested in interviewing Kugler almost a week ago, but he was under contract in Denver and then reportedly jumped to the Bucs. We will have to wait and see how it all shakes out now.
