Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell, who has missed 12 kicks (combining field-goal and point-after attempts) this season, deleted his Twitter account on Sunday night.

It is not known whether he deactivated his @WizardOfBoz09 account because of criticism he received from others or because screenshots of Tweets of his from several years ago containing racist and homophobic language were revealed.

Boswell missed a 32-yard field-goal attempt but made a 48-yard try during Pittsburgh’s 17-10 win against the New England Patriots.

About one year ago, Boswell accused then-Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Josh Shaw (now of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) of attempting to injure him before he booted the game-winning 43-yard field goal in the Bengals’ 23-20 loss to the Steelers.

The Bengals visit Pittsburgh in their regular-season finale on Dec. 30. Cincinnati’s last win against the Steelers came in November of 2015.
