Oregon State coach Jonathan Smith apparently has a vacancy on his coaching staff to fill.
Secondary coach Greg Burns no longer is listed as as an assistant on the Oregon State website.
Published reports are linking Burns with a vacancy on the USC coaching staff.
Burns, 46, has coached both in the NFL and on the college levels. He was a secondary coach at Cal from 2014-16, and had previously coached at, among other places, Arizona State, USC and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At USC, he was an assistant on teams that won two national championships
