Jameis Winston deserves a contract extension

One of the most hotly debated topics among Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans this season? Whether or not quarterback Jameis Winston warrants a long-term contract extension that will keep him the team’s franchise quarterback beyond next season.

You can count Bucs star wide receiver Mike Evans among those who believe Winston deserves to stick around (via Pewter Report):

Winston’s performance so far this season has been a roller-coaster, even more so than his somewhat inconsistent play over the previous three seasons since the Bucs made him the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft. A first-round pick himself in 2014, Evans has obviously developed a strong connection with Winston while topping 1,000 yards in each of his four seasons (and likely to make if five in a row Sunday).

There’s definitely a strong argument to the contrary, but it makes sense that Evans would have Winston’s back on this.
