TAMPA, Fla. — Following the Falcons’ 34-32 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the completion of the NFL’s afternoon slate of games, Atlanta’s draft spot for the 2019 NFL draft has been set.
The Falcons, who finished with a 7-9 record, will hold the No. 14 spot in the draft. Atlanta is locked into that No. 14 spot regardless of the outcome of Sunday night’s matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts. That game will adjust the order for a handful of teams, however, and those teams whose slot is subject to change have been marked with an asterisk.
After Sunday night’s game the first 20 spots for next year’s draft will be set. The remaining 12 spots will be determined by the results of the playoffs.
The Falcons have never drafted at No. 14 in the history of their franchise. The Saints held the No. 14 pick in this year’s draft and selected defensive end Marcus Davenport; the Eagles held the No. 14 pick in the 2017 draft and selected defensive end Derek Barnett; and the Raiders held the No. 14 pick in the 2016 draft, selecting safety Karl Joseph.
Here is the order for the first 20 picks of the 2019 NFL Draft heading into the final game of the season:
