The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers named their game-day inactives on Monday at 6:45 p.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff of their game at Raymond James Stadium. NFL teams are required to reduce their active rosters to 46 players for each regular-season game.
The Buccaneers’ defensive line will be a bit thin on the interior, with defensive tackles Beau Allen and Vita Vea inactive. That was no surprise; both had been ruled out on Friday. Allen suffered a foot injury in the Week Two win over Philadelphia and Vea has only recently returned to practice after injuring his calf on the third day of training camp.
There was some intrigue on Monday, however, about the middle of the Buccaneers’ offensive line. Starting center Ryan Jensen was added to the team’s injury report on Monday morning due to illness and was labeled as questionable for the game. In the end, Jensen was able to suit up and will take his spot at the pivot against the Steelers.
The Steelers will be without two of their starting offensive linemen. Right guard David DeCastro hasn’t played since suffering a fractured hand in Pittsburgh’s opener. Right tackle Marcus Gilbert suffered a hamstring injury in the team’s Week Two contest and will also be sidelined for Monday’s game.
